Development

Ecommerce development that survives your busiest day.

Shopify and WooCommerce stores built to load fast, convert browsers into buyers and keep working when traffic spikes. Payments, shipping, tax and analytics configured properly before you launch.

First consultation is free, and every enquiry is answered within 12 hours.

Ecommerce development is the design and build of an online store that takes payments. MarkLogix builds on Shopify or WordPress WooCommerce, configuring products, payments, shipping, tax and analytics, and optimising for speed and conversion. Most stores are live in two to three weeks.

What you get

What an ecommerce build includes

Everything needed to take a real order on launch day, tested before you go live.

Platform recommendation

We advise Shopify or WooCommerce based on your catalogue size, margins and who manages the store, and explain the trade offs in writing.

Store design and build

Custom theme work rather than an unmodified template, designed around your products and how customers actually browse them.

Product setup

Catalogue structure, variants, collections, filters and bulk import so a large range stays navigable.

Payments and checkout

Payment gateways configured and tested end to end, including a real test order before launch.

Shipping and tax

Zones, rates and tax rules set up correctly so customers are not surprised at checkout.

Speed optimisation

Image compression, lazy loading and app discipline. Every extra app slows a store, so we install only what earns its place.

Ecommerce analytics

GA4 ecommerce tracking plus Meta and Google conversion tracking, so you can see which products and channels actually make money.

Launch and training

A handover session covering orders, refunds, stock and adding products, plus 30 days of support after launch.

Technology

The tools we build with

We are AI first and platform agnostic. The right tool depends on your budget, who maintains it after launch and how far it needs to scale, so we recommend one in the meeting and explain the trade offs before you commit. If your project uses something not on this list, we can still take it on.

04 / Test and launch

Test and launch

Real test orders through the full checkout, then launch with analytics and conversion tracking live from day one.

Fit

Is this right for you?

A good fit if

  • You are launching a new store and want it set up correctly the first time
  • Your current store is slow or abandons carts at checkout
  • You want the store and the ads managed by the same team
  • You need product data, shipping and tax handled properly, not improvised

Probably not if

  • You want a marketplace or multi vendor platform. That is an application build
  • You are not ready to supply product photos, descriptions or pricing
  • You want the cheapest possible theme install
  • You need enterprise ERP integration on a two week timeline

Investment

What it costs

Starter store $390 to $690

Shopify or WooCommerce, up to 30 products, payments, shipping and tracking configured.

Growth store $690 to $1,400

Custom theme work, larger catalogue, filters, collections and conversion optimisation.

Migration or advanced $1,400 to $2,000

Platform migration with redirects, wholesale pricing, or inventory and CRM integrations.

These are estimated starting ranges to help you size a budget. Exact pricing depends on your scope and is confirmed in writing after the first meeting, which is free and carries no obligation.

Questions

Common questions

How much does ecommerce website development cost?

Starter stores begin at $390 for up to thirty products with payments, shipping and tracking configured. Growth stores with custom theme work and larger catalogues run $690 to $1,400. Migrations and advanced builds run $1,400 to $2,000. Platform licence and app fees are paid directly by you and are separate.

Should I use Shopify or WooCommerce?

Shopify suits most stores because hosting, security and payments are handled for you at a monthly fee. WooCommerce suits businesses already on WordPress, or those needing unusual pricing rules and no platform transaction fees, at the cost of managing hosting yourself. We recommend one after reviewing your catalogue and margins.

How long does an ecommerce build take?

Most stores are live in two to three weeks. Design takes the first few days, build and configuration the following week, then testing and launch. Timelines depend mostly on how quickly product data, photography and copy are supplied.

Can you migrate my existing store to a new platform?

Yes. We migrate products, customers, orders and URLs, and set up redirects so existing search rankings are preserved. Migration without proper redirects is the most common way stores lose traffic after a rebuild, so we treat it as core scope rather than an extra.

Will my store be fast?

Yes, and we treat it as a requirement rather than a bonus. Every build targets under two seconds for the largest content to load. The main threat to store speed is app sprawl, so we install only the apps that earn their place and tell you when one costs more than it returns.

Do you work with technologies you have not listed?

Yes. Shopify and WooCommerce are what we use most, but if your store runs on another platform, or your team already has a stack you want kept, we can take it on. Tell us what you are using and we will confirm honestly whether we are the right fit.

Do you also run the ads for the store?

Yes. Google Ads, Meta Ads and SEO are handled by the same team that built the store, so a change to a product page and a change to a campaign happen in one conversation instead of between two vendors.

Do you sign an NDA before we share our project details?

Yes. We sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share anything confidential, including supplier information, margins or product plans, and we are happy to use your own NDA template.
